Remember when Ted first came to NY and went to work with me? I know months have passed since then and nothing new came of it, but Ted’s visit to NY couldn’t go to waste, could it?
A little background on this project. My friend Sandy started this back in May, his goal was to send Ted out to different Flickr Photogs around the world and have them take the little guy around. When the project is done, Sandy plans to donate the bear to a museum and, perhaps, create a book to go with it. Sandy’s photo pool is here.
Doing this series was fun. It might have looked a little unusual for a grown man to walk around with a teddy bear taking pics, but, gotta love this city, New Yorkers simply didn’t care. Once in a while someone would yell, ‘Oh look, a traveling bear’ or simply ‘Awww.’ Right now, Ted is with Anton & Sion, and has traveled to Spain. Can’t wait to see what they’ve shot. I’ve also started this Google Maps of where Tedster have been and hopefully it gets filled with many dots.
If anyone is interested in taking part in this project, contact Sandy.
First few days were lonely. No Ted time. So he made friends at home and stared out the window most of the time.
After a long wait, he got to go out, and gaze at the randomness of NY.

Brooklyn Bridge he seemed to be taken with.

New York Stock Exchange & a little Charging Bull riding couldn’t hurt.

Battery Park (Sphere in the background) & on Staten Island Ferry with Statue or Liberty waaaay out there.

Next day: Quick stops at Empire State Building, Chrysler Building…

…and Grand Central Terminal. No time for whispering gallery.

At this point, the DSLR went in the camera bag and out came the iPhone.

GE Building, then off to Times Square. (Blue M&M totally posed)

A little Broadway goes a long way.

His face lit up when he spotted…but alas.

One can get mighty tired from being a tourist.

Turns out all the camera attention persuaded Ted of a modeling career. He took to posing like a pro and to…

…getting downright cocky trying showing off his muscles. “Open window? No problem!”

Not surprisingly, the mirror became his best friend.

But he is, in the end, a good-hearted kid. Who loves to…travel.
